Bryant, Middle School: How I survived Bullies, Broccoli, and Snake Hill by James Patterson
For those who are not familiar with James Patterson's Middle School series. Rafe is an 8th grader with a lot of imagination, sometimes his imagination gets him into trouble ( He was kicked out of his 6th grade for vandalizing, in Middle School: Worst years of my life). He also had a reputation in all his previous middle schools for being a troublemaker ( Rafe's little sister Georgia had to put up with guilt by association when she went to 6th grade in Middle School: My Brother is a big fat liar) But in this installment... Rafe is going to summer school. When he arrives at Camp Wannamorra he is put in the Muskrat group, where everyone has a nickname. Some of the other Muskrats are: Booger Eater (Norman), Dweebs (Jake), Cav (Cavanaugh), Bombardier (Justin), Smurf (Jose), Two Tunz (Noah),
and Legend (???). The Muskrats later come into conflict with the Bobcats, a rival group led by Doolin (Thomas). After learning he does in fact NOT eat boogers, Rafe befriends Norman, who is constantly teased by Doolin for his nickname. But Rafe has a plan to stop them will he succeed, or end up expelled?
I would recommend this for all middle school kids. I can also relate to Rafe, because I too am being held captive to the physically draining prison that is middle school.
Other James Patterson books: Middle School: Worst years of my life, Middle School: Get me out of here, I Funny, and Middle School: My Brother is a big fat liar.
