From The Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg

I would recommend fron The Mixed Up Files of Mrs Basil E Frankweiler to anyone who enjoys the Met or an entrancing and intricately woven story. It also won the Newbury Award for children's literature. I enjoyed this book because it takes place in my favorite museum, the Met. I also like this book because it is a good story about kids who run away from home and live for a week in the Met Museum. The kids run away from home and end up sleeping in the Met, just as a famous artist's supposed work is purchased by the museum. The kids join in the investigation on whether or not the artist really did the work. I enjoyed the book because of how the characters were represented and their traits. This is a realistic fiction book, so if you like to read that genre then you will definitely enjoy this book.

  1. Tula -- I love that you are noting important markers of strong literature, and making personal connections to the work. This was one of my favorite books in middle school!
