This book is about a girl named Carley. Carley's step-father was very abusive so when the police arrest him and question Carley ,she can't clearly remember what happened. Meanwhile her mother is in the hospital and can't take care of Carley. So Carley is put in foster care with a family. At first she isn't fond of the family but she soon starts to love them. But when her mother learns to walk again she has to leave them. In conclusion, this story is heartfelt and sad, and sometimes hard to understand, but that makes it a really good story
