Okay For Now

Okay For Now is about a kid named Doug who's family moves to a place called Marysville. It's not easy for him to live there, with his dad always away and when he isn't he's grumpy and mad, having to make friends, and having his brother be accused of crimes. One of his only joys is painting. Then his brother gets back from a war were he has lost both his arms and may have become permanently blind. His best friend also has cancer. But in Marysville he has some good experiences, from learning to drink a very cold coke to getting an invitation to perform on Broadway. In the end things get better for Doug and his family is finally happy. I recommend this book because it goes into Doug's life and feelings very deeply and is just interesting and funny to read.
